Applications for admission to the Master of Science Information Technology (MSIT)
program are to be submitted to the UNC Charlotte Graduate School. Minimal
Graduate School admission requirements include:
Additional MSIT admission requirements beyond the UNC Charlotte Graduate School
admission requirements include:
- The
program requires applicants to have completed undergraduate course work, or
equivalent, in an object-oriented programming language (e.g., C++, C#, or
Java) and in data structures with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a
4.0 scale.
- The
program requires applicants to have an undergraduate grade point average of
at least 2.8 (on a 4.0 point scale) and a junior/senior GPA of at least 3.0.
- The
program requires a satisfactory score on the Graduate Record Examination
(GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
Application documentation checklist:
- An
official transcript showing evidence of a (impending) baccalaureate degree.
- An
official report of GRE or GMAT performance.
- A
written Statement of Purpose.
- A
written description or evidence of relevant or significant work experience.

Evidence of object-oriented programming and data structure expertise and/or
experience.
- If
the applicant's native language is not English, the applicant must satisfy
UNC Charlotte TOFEL requirements for international students.
